Therapy does not guarantee a perfect life; rather, it leads you on a journey of self-discovery, where you acquire skills that enable you to experience life in a unique and meaningful way. I want to congratulate you on taking the first step toward personal growth and a more fulfilled life. Thank you for allowing me to support you to work toward healing from emotional disruptions and finding solutions to life’s challenges.
Working with children, adolescents, individuals, and couples through issues including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and relationships.
My experience includes working at Santa Clara County crisis hotline and Santa Clara County behavioral health department, where I provided counseling services to a diverse population. I completed my traineeship at John F. Kennedy University community counseling center working with adults and couples; as well as providing therapeutic counseling services to elementary students. Currently, I am working as a school based therapist in the Cupertino and Union school districts.
As a therapist, I have the ability to connect with clients and maintain a therapeutic alliance through reflective listening and empathic validation. I take pride in providing my clients a safe and non-judgmental space to process their inner thoughts and feelings. My approach is client-centered, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with various therapeutic techniques, with an emphasis on a mindfulness practice. As an immigrant, one of my passion is working with fellow immigrants in supporting them to overcome the special set of challenges they face so they may enjoy prosperity and find harmony and fulfillment in life.
I hold an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University, as well as a B.S. in Finance from SUNY Plattsburgh. I have worked in the finance industry for more than 10 years, as well as volunteered within the community in various roles. I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with the Board of Behavioral Science and I am supervised by Danielle Zent, LMFT #53522. I am a member in good standing with California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) Santa Clara Valley Chapter.
I speak Mandarin and Cantonese. 我精通国，粤语。
