I understand how difficult it can be admitting you might need help. My passion as a therapist is to help you work through the fears that are keeping you from moving forward. The only way to deal with fear is to face it head on. If fear is keeping you from reaching your full potential, we can work together to overcome it. As your therapist, you can expect to be listened to, understood and respected. Therapy can be tough at times, but it should never be demeaning. My goal is to create a safe environment so you can find your voice and once again take charge of your life.
Working with adolescents, student-athletes, and families. Specifically, those with low self-esteem, depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD and grief and loss.
My experience includes working as an intern at the Bill Wilson Center where I worked in the clinic serving a diverse population and as a school based therapist. Currently, I’m working as a middle school therapist in the Campbell Union School District. Currently I support students who are struggling with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, anger and conflict both at home and at school.
Another one of my passions is to work with students who are competing in both the classroom and on the playing field. The pressure being put on our youth to achieve is unprecedented. To reach peak performance, I fundamentally believe paying attention to the psychological component of competition is paramount to success. To succeed, it’s imperative that both internal and external goals be identified. My goal is to not only help identify these goals but to put plan in place to achieve them. Competing without goals is like sailing a ship without a map. In the end, you never know where you’re going to end up!
I’m trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Brief Therapy. In addition, I also take a holistic approach to therapy as well. I feel it’s imperative to identify the connection between one’s thoughts, feelings and physical experiences.
I obtained both my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University. I am a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with the Board of Behavioral Science and I’m supervised by Geoff Nugent, PhD., LMFT LPC, MFC 47549.
