Welcome to Nugent Family Counseling Center, proudly serving clients in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area California since 2015!

We currently provide in-person services in San Jose, CA and Reno, NV, as well as offer telehealth in CA and NV.

Here at Nugent Family Counseling Center, we support a diverse community of children, adolescents, adults, and families. We provide therapeutic and coaching approaches to find hope, healing, and solutions for those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and grief. We strive to provide clients with the needed tools to understand and acknowledge the effects of their emotions and behaviors on themselves and their relationships and find new or improved paths forward. We seek to motivate growth, new perspectives, and commitment to the core value that Change is Possible!

Our therapists and clinicians use a variety of innovative modalities and approaches, including dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychotherapy, psychological testing, and anger management. We offer family and marriage counseling to explore and understand relationship dynamics, rediscover what is loved about each other, and to address challenges, difficulties, or transitions that may have occurred.

We are proud to offer Neurofeedback treatments, which is brain training, using positive reinforcements to change “stuck” brain patterns of function. Neurofeedback has been scientifically proven to have positive effects on behavior, attention, mood, and cognition. We understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counseling. As a team, we aim to get to know all clients on a personal level and work together to create informed care plans. We also recognize that clients evolve throughout the counseling process and ensure that sessions and techniques are consistently modified accordingly.
