Grateful for you being here.

My name is Elizabeth “Liz” Ojeda, and I am a First-Generation Associate Marriage and Family Therapist here at Nugent. Many of the people who I have connected with have experienced a life changing event that led to feeling lost and disconnected with themselves and others. I welcome your whole self alongside your emotional pain, rage, and grief. Together, we will work to foster a relationship where you define what healing means to you.

Through my dedicated years of practice, I have worked with children, youth and families impacted by various forms of adverse life experiences. I specialize in trauma and transition, identity development, and navigating institutional challenges. My experience encompasses providing services within various settings including schools, community mental health, clinic locations, emergency shelters, and juvenile justice centers providing both in-person and telehealth services. I have developed skills in individual, group, and family counseling as well as non-violent crisis intervention, consultation, and harm reduction practices.

My approach is rooted in humanistic and relational practices while drawing from Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic, and somatic techniques to aid our community in restoring their sense of safety, dignity, and belonging. I weave in my authenticity, patience, and compassion to create a down-to-earth environment that is accountable to change. My work is rooted in trauma-responsive and culturally-grounded practices to ultimately restore a sense of wholeness and collective resilience.

I invite you to give yourself permission to come as you are when you are ready. We will move at your pace to guide you towards reclaiming your narrative and orienting towards what is possible.

Tending to our wounds is painful and takes courage– and we do not have to carry that pain alone.
