Erin Fey (MI 4031, Nevada)  is a Northern Nevada native who loves living in Reno. She has strong experience in the mental health field helping clients navigate trauma, life changes, grief, anxiety, depression, and trauma utilizing a combination of behavioral modification, narrative, cognitive behavioral interventions, and DBT techniques. She is excited to join Nugent Family Counseling in our Reno office.

Erin received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada Reno in 2004. After working in the mental health field specializing in behavioral analysis and psychiatric casework, she graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy in 2012.

After providing intensive trauma focused individual, couples, and family therapy over the years, Erin began her own private practice working primarily with children and adolescents focusing on behavioral modification and CBT approaches along with DBT techniques while overseeing multiple therapeutic foster home agencies. Within these agencies, she focused her therapeutic practices on working with individual child and adolescents along with families on adjustment and attachment disorders that stem from trauma.  Erin also has an extensive history of providing therapeutic services within the Washoe County School District for grades K-12.

Over the years, Erin has specialized in trauma focused therapy along with cognitive behavioral interventions while working with first hand responders. This includes law enforcement, firefighters, wildfire deployment, healthcare front line workers, veterans of all ages, senior facilities and training pertaining to trauma responses, resilience, and coping mechanisms within her private practice and with these individuals.  In conjunction with her private practice and community involvement, Erin is a commited advocate for the LGBTQ community in Reno, NV and participates in many local community resources and fundraising for local nonprofits.
