I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) with experience providing school-based and in-home therapeutic services. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children and adolescents from preschool through high school who are navigating challenges such as PTSD, ASD, ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
My journey into the mental health field was inspired by my own lived experience with childhood depression, which fuels my passion for creating compassionate and accessible care. That personal connection to the work has shaped my commitment to helping young people and their families find healing, resilience, and hope. At Nugent Family Counseling, I continue this work through evidence-based and client-centered approaches that honor each client’s story and strengths.
The most rewarding part of my role is witnessing growth — whether it’s a child learning new coping skills, a teen gaining insight, or a family beginning to communicate in healthier ways. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported in their journey toward wellness. My practice is grounded in the values of compassion, authenticity, cultural humility, and collaboration.
Outside of work, I enjoy journaling, exercising, practicing mindfulness, and spending quality time with friends and family. I also love exploring vintage shops and curating unique pieces of clothing that reflect creativity and individuality. I believe humor and creativity are powerful tools in the healing process, and I bring that philosophy into both my professional and personal life.
A favorite quote that guides my approach to therapy is:
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals.” – Pema Chödrön
