At times everyone needs help coping with life events. As an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, I enjoy providing individuals, couples, and families with skills they can readily use for current and future life events. Individual and personal strengths can be complemented with tools to achieve a well-balanced and healthy mental health lifestyle. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I provide tools and approaches to achieve individual personal goals and well-being.

Specialty:

I work with individuals, families, and couples who are experiencing anxiety, depression, crisis, self-esteem, trauma, abuse, and relationship needs. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered approaches, mindfulness, and behavior analysis.

I received my BS in Psychology from The University of Maryland with a Certificate in Clinical Mental Healthcare, my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, and currently conducting research in her PhD Counseling Education and Supervision also with Walden University.  I have received training in behavior analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness.

Prior to joining Nugent Family Counseling Center, I have worked with individuals, couples and families and had partnered with the Santa Clara Juvenile Probation by providing Juvenile Domestic Violence Program Group Therapy. I have also held several positions within the mental health field including Clinic Director, The Wood Group, (2019-2011), MCOT Mobile On-Call Crisis Team, Camino Real Community Services (2016), and Mental Health Technician, San Antonio State Hospital, Texas Department of State Health Services.
