Hello there, my name is Van and I’m one of the Associate Marriage and Family Therapist here at Nugent. I graduated from Santa Clara University with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Health Psychology. As a San Jose native, I am committed to providing mental health services to my community and bridging the gap between physical well-being and mental well-being.
My approach to therapy is simple – the client above all else. I believe in the uniqueness of each individual and thus, each individual I work with requires a different process that is tailored and customized to their needs. I utilize different techniques such as from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to best support my clients and to help them feel empowered to become the best version of themselves.
